Battle of Britain Lace

The Battle of Britain lace panel on display in the Air Force Association (South Australia) Memorial Room on the 2nd floor of the Torrens Parade Ground Training Depot was manufactured by Dobsons & M. Browne & Co. Ltd between 1942 and 1947. It was woven to commemorate the battle and as a tribute to those who fought to save Britain.

Epic Flight Centenary
In 2019, South Australia celebrated the centenary of the first flight across the world from England to Australia – an awesome feat achieved in a plane of wood, wire and fabric, with open cockpits and only a compass for navigation. ADF Firefighter Scheme
The ADF Firefighter Scheme, as it is to be known, is in recognition of the potential for health effects from being exposed to a wide range of hazardous substances during historical fire training, when Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was not of the same standard available today.
